Maguire, Pritchard Star over Weekend

Two great bits of alumni news from the weekend.

First, Boston University Senior Sean Maguire did all he could over the weekend, guiding Boston University to the Beanpot Final against Boston College. The fairy tale weekend wasn’t meant to be as Maguire and his Terriers lost 1-0 in overtime to their College rivals. However, Maguire was named tournament MVP and won the Eberly Award for the lowest save percentage among Beanpot goaltenders. Here is a great feature on Sean and his battle back from concussion to post outstanding numbers in his Senior year and at the Beanpot tournament.

Here’s the post-game press conference featuring Sean:

And highlights from the game itself:

Also on the weekend, St. Lawrence freshman Jacob Pritchard has been named the ECAC Rookie of the Week, announced Tuesday. Pritchard led all ECAC Hockey rookies in scoring for the second straight week recording three goals in two road games. He scored one goal in a 3-0 win at Rensselaer on Friday and then netted two goals, including the game-tying goal at Messa Rink against Union on Saturday. The scoring output against the Dutchmen marked his first collegiate two-goal game. The rookie now has 11 points on five goals and six assists in 24 games for the Saints.

Congratulations Jacob and Sean!
