Spring Development Camp Update

The Kings 2018 Spring Development Camp is underway in Kamloops. While Spring Development Camp remains a great pipeline into the BCHL and the Powell River Kings system, this year under new General Manager and Head Coach Tyler Kuntz, has seen a strong focus on skill development, rather than just identifying players for future seasons.

Burnaby Winter Club defenceman Cameron Chin (2000) is one of the older players at camp this year, looking to make the jump to Junior hockey following steady growth at BWC over recent seasons.

Despite being held in Kamloops, several local Powell River prospects are competing for spots with the Kings, as well as using the camp as a development opportunity. 2002-born defenceman Gabe Shipley made the jump from E-15 to Prep hockey last season at the Delta Hockey Academy.

Finally, 2002-born forward Nic Porchetta finished 3rd in team scoring for the Delta Hockey Academy E-15’s last year.
