Surrey, BC – The Powell River Kings (7-9) suffered a 5-3 loss to the Surrey Eagles (5-9-1) who snapped their six game losing streak on Friday night at the South Surrey Arena.

Jacob Badal scored twice, and Reilly Moran scored for the second straight game, as Kings dropped their sixth straight game.

The Kings came within one in the third period, as Badal came streaking down the left wing, and beat Cal Schell short side for his second of the game and fourth goal this season. Under five minutes later, Hudson Schandor completed the hat-trick to put the Eagles ahead by two for the eventual 5-3 win.

The Eagles had a 3-0 lead until midway through the second period. Jacob Badal scored the Kings first goal on a scramble in front, but that only lasted seven seconds as Cristophe Tellier gave the Eagles a 4-1 lead.

Powell River outshot Surrey 38-26, out shooting their opponent for the ninth time this season.  Matteo Paler-Chow made 21-saves in the loss, while Cal Schell made 33-saves for his third win this season.

The Powell River kings are back in action on Sunday at 3:00 p.m., against the Coquitlam Express.
