Brackett and Krall earn BCHL Player of the Week HM

Powell River, BC – The BCHL announced Monday that Powell River Kings forward Jack Brackett, and goaltender Derek Krall have been named BCHL Week 14 Player of the Week Honourable Mentions.

Brackett, 18, scored four goals and three assists for seven points in three games last week, raising his point total to 19 points (7G/12A) in 24 games. The Manassas, VA native scored the Teddy Bear Toss goal on Friday, and scored two short-handed goals, helping the Kings go 2-0-1 with wins over Surrey and Alberni Valley. The RPI commit is now riding a three game point-streak heading into one game this week.

Krall, 20, went 2-0, posting a 1.00 GAA / .969 SV% – collecting both of the Kings wins last week. The Nanaimo, BC product stopped 29 of 30 on Friday against Surrey, and made 33 saves on 34 shots against Alberni Valley on Sunday. The uncommitted goaltender improves to 12-4-1 with a 2.66 GAA / .912 SV% this season.

The Powell River Kings are back in action this Friday at 7:00 p.m., against the Merritt Centennials for our annual Food Bank Drive presented by Coast FM, City Transfer and Save on Foods.
