Flat Kings Fall in Game 3

A spirited start was flipped on its head with a back breaking goal for the Grizzlies, as they ran away 5-0 winners on Monday night at Hap Parker Arena.

The Kings came out the better team early in the first period, but were unable to generate a shot on goal until midway through the period. Then during a 4-on-4 passage of play, the Kings rushed down the ice with Ryan Pouliot jumping in. A clearance from Victoria found Jayden Lee in the Kings zone as he passed away from pressure, but set up a break for Carter Berger to open the scoring.

Into the second and the Grizzlies cashing in twice on the powerplay through Cam Thompson and Kyle McGrath to open a 3-0 lead on a Kings team that looked more disjointed the longer the game went on. Eddie Yan added another late off a faceoff win for a 4-0 advantage. Victoria tacked on a 5th goal on Matteo Paler-Chow, who came in relief of Mitch Adamyk after 40 minutes, and Kurtis Chapman down the other end turned aside all 31 Powell River shots for his 2nd clean sheet of the playoffs.
