Hockey Development Programs Still Have Room

The Powell River Kings invite young stars to continue to develop their hockey skills with the Power Skating, Puck & Skills Development and Hockey Academy programs lead by Kings' instruction.

Some info…

1. Power Skatingthis program will cater to the first time skater right through to high level rep players. It will include all teaching aspects of becoming a more balanced and explosive skater.

Target: Initiation, Atom, and PeeWee

Always on Tuesdays October ( 5,12, 26)  November ( 2, 9,16, 23, 30)

2. Puck & Skills Development – the Kings Coaching Staff will run this program. We will be running 8 sessions focusing on improving puck skills. Each week we will be focusing on a different aspect of puck handling

Example:
Stick Handling, Puck Protection, Face-Offs, Puck Cycles, Chips & Support, Deflections, 1 on 1's, Shooting and Passing.

**Note: Goalies will get a ton of shots plus 1 on 1 instruction from Kings Goaltenders.

Target: Initiation, Atom, PeeWee, Bantam, Midget

3. Kings Junior Hockey Academy – We are exited to introduce our Inaugural Kings Hockey Academy. It will be an after school program for players running on Wednesdays for Peewee, Bantam and Midget players. In the Academy you will get an Hour & Fifteen minutes of Ice per day working on all aspects of becoming a complete hockey player.

You will also endure intense Dry Land sessions. Other aspects of the Academy include Stretching, Gym Workouts, Plyometrics Workouts, Video Sessions, Nutritional Seminars, Junior Hockey Seminars, Goaltender Seminars Q & A, Guests Speakers, Homework Study Sessions with Kings along with Healthy Snacks & Drinks.

This is the first Phase and will begin in September and registration is open. Should you register for Phase 1 you will have first priority when registering for Phase 2. There will also be a discounted rate should you register for both. Hockey gear storage at the rink will also be available as well as transportation from School to the arena.

You can sign up for the Kings Hockey Academy at the Kings? office (which will be open Monday to Friday from 9am ? 4pm.)

The cost for Phase 1 is $275.00. This can be paid via cash, cheque, or credit card.  

Sign-up early as there is only room for 25 participants.

Target: Peewee/Bantam/Midget   3:30-6:30pm

Always Wednesday
