Kerr Arrives

With just over a month until the season opener, things are picking up at the Hap Parker Arena in Powell River. The Kings have filled the final spot on their staff by hiring Brendon Kerr as the team's trainer.

Kerr, a native of Thunder Bay, Ontario, arrived in Powell River yesterday. Brendon spent 10 years working with the Lakehead University Thunderwolves Men's Hockey team where he made his way up from water boy to assistant trainer. In the off-season, he worked with the Lakehead baseball team as the club house manager for five years, which also included two years in the front office. With an educational background in Recreation & Leisure, as well as the completion of Level 1,2 and 3 in the Hockey Trainers Certification Program, he is ready to tackle his new position.

Kerr, with a smile on his face, notes, “I'm ready for the season to begin. With back-to-back Coastal Conference championships, I'm looking forward to being a part of a team whose goal is to make it all the way to the RBC Cup.”

When asked about his thoughts on his new community after just two days  of living in Powell River, he says, “It's exciting to be living in a new city and living so close to the ocean. I'm already ready to call it home!”

The Kings' Board of Directors and staff welcome Brendon to the team!
