Powell River, BC – July 13, 2026 – The Powell River Kings have completed another roster move, acquiring forward Tuukka Heiskanen from the Langley Rivermen in exchange for forward Junsu Kwak.
Tuukka Heiskanen, a 2006-born left winger from Tampere, Finland (6’0”, 182 lbs, shoots left), returns to the BCHL with valuable prior experience. In his 2023-24 rookie season with Langley, Heiskanen recorded 16 points (9G, 7A) in 26 regular season games and added 3 points (1G, 2A) in 4 playoff games. Last season, he competed in Finland with KeuPa HT and JYP U20, gaining important development minutes in a highly competitive environment. Known for his size, strong shot, hockey sense, and two-way play, Heiskanen is a proven BCHL performer ready to make an immediate impact and elevate the Kings’ forward group.
This trade allows us to add another skilled, experienced forward who fits our team identity perfectly. Tuukka’s ability to score and compete at both ends of the ice strengthens our lineup as we build momentum for the season ahead. We’re excited to welcome him to the Kings family and the community.
