POWELL RIVER, B.C. – The Powell River Kings are pleased to announce the hiring of Brock Ward as their new Athletic Therapist and Justin Sulpico as their new Broadcaster and Director of Media Relations.

Ward, 28, from Prince Rupert, joins the Kings after graduating from Mount Royal University in Calgary with a degree in athletic therapy. He served as the student therapist for the Mount Royal Cougars men’s hockey team (U SPORTS) for the 2019-20 season. Additionally, he has worked with the wrestling and track and field teams at the University of Calgary in 2018-19. Ward is no stranger to the BCHL, having served as trainer for the Trail Smoke Eaters in the 2012-13 season.

“I am excited for the opportunity to join Powell River right out of university and being able to work in the BCHL again is definitely a highlight for me,” commented Ward.

Sulpico, 21, from Abbotsford, comes to Powell River after spending the past two seasons as the Broadcaster and Media Coordinator for the Abbotsford Pilots (PJHL) and the Fraser Valley Thunderbirds (BC U18 AAA). He is also a graduate of the BCIT Radio Arts and Entertainment program.

“I am super grateful to be able to work in the BCHL and with the Kings organization.” said Sulpico. “I am looking forward to being part of a terrific community here in Powell River and sharing the action this season with Kings fans through our broadcasts and media channels.”
