Kings Bow Out of BCHL Playoffs

The season is over for the Powell River Kings as they fell in game 7 of the Island Division Final on Monday night at the Q Centre in Victoria, by a score of 6-1.

Neal Samanski tallied the lone goal for the Kings, a shot that deflected off Grizzlies defenceman Kenny Johnson and in the back of the net. With the win, Victoria capture the Island Division Championship for the 2nd time in three years and move on to the third round to face the Prince George Spruce Kings beginning Friday night.

Powell River returns to home on Tuesday afternoon and will begin to wrap up the season with player exit meetings, a team photo and lockerroom clean out. The game marked the final one for the Kings six graduating players, Mitch Williams, Ryan Pouliot, Neal Samanski, Mitch Adamyk, Ryan Brushett and Josh Coblenz with a handful of others potentially heading to NCAA or CIS schools next season.
