Kings Flavour to NHL Free Agent Frenzy

While the Tavares Watch captured many of the headlines as NHL free agency, the Toronto Maple Leafs’ new franchise centre was hardly the lone player to make a move on July 1st. In total, 68 players signed deals on Canada Day with one of those being former Kings forward Daniel Carr.

Carr inked a one year, $750,000 deal with the Vegas Golden Knights. For the past four seasons, Carr had been in the Montreal Canadiens organization at both the NHL and AHL levels. Carr famously scored on his first shift, and first shot in the NHL against Carolina in December 2015.

You can read more on Carr’s signing here.

There could be more to come as well. Mat Bodie is currently a UFA, as his deal with Tampa has expired, along with Sean Maguire who was signed by Pittsburgh but traded to Arizona last season is also a UFA.
