The Kings joined in on the fun at the Phoenix Centre raising $$$ for the Powell River Youth Resource Centre with SunFM's Sun-A-Thon.
SunFM (including our very own Fraser Rodgers) were live on site from 6am to 6pm on a mission to raise $30,000.00 for the YRC. Family Service volunteers ran the phone lines while youth and other volunteers from the business community grilled hotdogs, twirled cotton candy sticks, played guitar and gave away great prizes.
The Kings contributed to the success by joining youth with colourful banners along Joyce Avenue waving cars into the Phoenix Centre to donate. If they weren't turning in to donate, the Kings would challenge them to at least honk and get into the spirit & fun of the Youth Centre!
The First Credit Union collaborated with the Kings and raised $1,500.00 for the Youth Centre this past Friday at the game versus Alberni. There was also an interactive Youth Resource Centre for all to experience prior to the game. The event was a huge a success (and lots of fun for the 1,110 fans who came through)!
