Kings sweep road series in Alberni Valley

Dante De Caria

Alberni Valley, BC – The Powell River Kings took back-to-back pre-season games over the Alberni Valley Bulldogs after a 7-2 win on Friday afternoon at the Weyerhaeuser Arena.

The Kings received goals from six different players. Levi Glasman scored twice, while Michael Abgrall, Davis Pennington, Jacob Paler-Chow, Ethan Reisterer and Nic Porchetta all found the back of the net in the win.

Four of the Kings seven markers were scored in the second period, giving the Powell River Kings a 5-0 lead after two.

“We just talked in the intermission about keeping the pace up, getting pucks on net and finding those rebounds,” said Glasman on their strong second period play.

Powell River improves to 2-0 with one more game left in the pre-season. Glasman gives credit to the Kings hard work at practice.

“I think it had a lot to do with how hard we practiced this week. We didn’t really focus on scrimmages, but we’re getting the structure down as a team and getting the feel for our lines.”

The Kings outshot the Bulldogs 46-32 and 81-60 over the two games this week.

Powell River’s final exhibition game will be played on Friday, August 30th at 5:00 p.m., at Hap Parker Arena.
