Kings unable to hold the lead, resulting in a 5-3 loss to Vernon

Powell River, BC – The Vernon Vipers scored three unanswered goals in the third for a 5-3 win over the Powell River Kings on Friday night at the Hap Parker Arena.

PJ Garrett gave the Kings the 3-2 lead with a blast from the mid-point in the third period. That lasted less than 30-seconds, as Ben Helgeson scored on a cross-crease pass. Logan Cash later gave the Vipers the 4-3 lead at the 11-minute mark, scoring on a penalty shot.

The Kings end week 8 of the BCHL season 1-1 after a 4-1 victory over the Prince George Spruce Kings the night before.

Levi Glasman scored his eighth and Dawson McKay scored his sixth earlier on. The Powell River Kings tied the game twice before taking the lead in the third.

The Powell River Kings are back in action on the road this weekend against the Cowichan Valley Capitals, Alberni Valley Bulldogs and Nanaimo Clippers. Kings are back at home next Friday against the West Kelowna Warriors.
