Lee Commits to Quinnipiac for 2020

The Powell River Kings are proud to announce that defenceman Jayden Lee has committed to Quinnipiac University for the 2020/21 season.

“They contacted me at the Showcase and I had the opportunity to meet their coach and begin the process,” said Lee. “After that, I had a trip down and got to see the campus and the facilities and knew it was a great fit for me.”

Lee is in his 2nd year of BCHL action, but his first in Powell River after playing his rookie year with the Langley Rivermen. Through 44 BCHL games, Lee has 2 goals and 9 assists and scored his first as a King last weekend against the Nanaimo Clippers. The goal stood as the eventual game winner in a 2-1 Powell River victory.

With time until moving to collegiate hockey, Lee has the opportunity to round out his game and step into the Quinnipiac lineup as a freshman.

“I see myself fitting in with the Bobcats in a similar way to how I’ve fit in with Powell River. They play a fast game, their like to activate and use the D a lot,” adds Lee. “I’m just focused on developing my game, getting bigger and stronger and go into my freshmen year with every opportunity to contribute.”

The Kings would like to congratulate Jayden on this achievement.
