Lee to Quinnipiac for 2019/2020 Season

The Kings are proud to announce that Jayden Lee will be attending Quinnipiac University for the 2019/2020 season.

Jayden Lee joined the Kings this past season as a young defenseman, still in high school. Wearing number four, Jayden Lee played with heart and soul and became a young leader on and off the ice in a few short weeks. He was a key contributor to the Kings on-ice success last season and played key minutes and in every situation.

Jayden’s decision to go a year earlier than was expected is in part because the coaches at Quinnipiac gave him a call a few weeks ago and mentioned that they were losing a few guys, “They said I was ready and they want to bring me in a year early. Going in as a true freshman just means I need to continually put the work in at the gym to get bigger and stronger.”

Jayden will join two past teammates and one past Powell River Kings Player at Quinnipiac next season; Ethan Leyh and Matt Fawcett, “It’s going to be huge to have two other freshmen that I know and have played with before and it’ll be good to have another friendly face and just be able to relate with them and go through the beginning of the season together.”

Kings’ General Manager and Head Coach Tyler Kuntz is proud of Lee saying, “Jayden is an extremely smart and skilled defenseman that was a warrior for his teammates and the organization. His contributions will be sorely missed but the gains he made last season will only assist him in his next step at Quinnipiac.”

Although Jayden was only a Powell River King for one season, he loved his time as a King. “I’m going to miss just how welcoming everyone in the town was and being able to come to the rink with the guys; we had an amazing group, it was really a fun group of guys. And with coaches Tyler and Brock and Kyle, they really helped me throughout the year become a better hockey player. The whole experience in Powell River was amazing.”
