We are proud to announce that goaltender Matthias Smith has committed to NCAA Div. III school University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point.
Matthias joined the Kings in November after spending the last two seasons with the Dauphin Kings of the MJHL. He suited up for 18 games for the Kings this season putting up at 4.26 GAA and a .889 save % to go along with a 2-10-3 record and won the teams Catalyst hardest worker award.
“I’m super happy to commit to Stevens Point. I’m very excited to be part of a fantastic organization” said Matthias ” I’m very grateful for all the help of the Powell River Kings coaching staff and organization gave me.”
The Product of Courtenay B.C. will be a great addition to a Pointers team who are coming off a first place finish in their division with a 20-6-1 record and are looking to rebuild in the crease as both their goalies this past season were seniors
