The Kings have made the following roster updates.
First returning to the Kings is goaltender Ryan Tamelin. The Invermere native began the year with the Vancouver Giants and was the starting goalie in their home opener. Last season Tamelin played in 12 games here in Powell River.
Secondly the Kings have signed forward Ryan Hedley and defenseman David Holub.
Hedley is a 18 year old from Raleigh, North Carolina. He played the last two season at Salisbury School in Connecticut. “Ryan is a smart 200 foot center.” says Head Coach and G.M. Stephan Seeger Jr. “He has great vision off the rush and makes nifty plays when they present himself to him. He also gets involved physically and is great in the faceoff circle.” Last year, Hedley led his team in scoring with 21 goals and 27 assists in 31 games.
Holub comes to the Kings from the Sault St. Marie Greyhounds in the OHL. The 18 year old from Czechia suited up in 48 games for the Greyhounds and collected 7 points. “David is a hard nose right hand shot defender. He likes to play physical and isn’t afraid to jump in on a rush.” adds Seeger Jr. “He defends strongly and likes the dirty areas. His experience at such a young age in the OHL as well at the world stage, will make a great addition to our locker room.” Holub has competed internationally for Czechia at the U16, U17, and U18 levels including 5 games at the 2024 Hlinka Gretzky Cup. He will also be reunited with Kings goalie David Skacel here in Powell River as they have previously played together for two years in the Czech junior league.
Hedley and Holub will be in the lineup this weekend while Ryan Tamelin is not expected to dress when the Kings host the Victoria Grizzlies for two games.
To make room on the roster the Kings have released defenseman Nathan Lebrasseur and goaltender Jannes Kamp.
