Brennan Menard named new Head Coach & Associate General Manager

Powell River, B.C. — The Powell River Kings are pleased to announce the hiring of Brennan Menard as the club’s new Head Coach and Associate General Manager.

Menard joins the Kings after three successful seasons with the Sherwood Park Crusaders, where he most recently served as Head Coach and General Manager. During his tenure, he established a reputation for player development, team culture, and competitive success, helping numerous players advance to collegiate opportunities. In the past 3 seasons with Sherwood Park Crusaders, Brennon’s record was 111-55-9.

Prior to his time in Sherwood Park, Menard gained valuable experience as assistant coach with the Kitchener Rangers (OHL), as well as with Lakehead University Thunderwolves Men’s Hockey and the Spruce Grove Saints. Menard playing background include 5 years USports and one year in Germany 3 Oberliga.

The Kings organization is excited to welcome Brennan to Powell River with his wife Alex, 7-year-old boy Oskar, 5-year-old boy Jett and the 3-month-old baby girl Sunnie.

His commitment to advancing player potential, strong leadership qualities, and proven track record make him an excellent fit for our program as we focus on building toward sustained success in the BCHL. 

Menard expressed enthusiasm about the opportunity to join the Kings organization.

As Head Coach and Associate General Manager, Menard will oversee the club’s on-ice operations, player development, recruiting efforts, and day-to-day hockey activities.
