BUBBLE SOCCER LEAGUE
As part of our goal to enhance the game-day experience of our fans attending home games, we are seeking a sponsor to work with us to establish a Bubble Soccer league. The league would be comprised of a maximum of 5 x teams of 3 players each from local businesses interested in competing. One match would occur during the first intermission of one home game per home stand (13 weeks), followed by playoffs and a final championship match during the last home game of the season.
The league sponsor would be asked to provide 6 x bubble soccer (4 foot) units for game play (approx. cost of $750.00) AND supply a trophy for the winner of the championship match. Interested parties, including businesses wanting to field a team for the league, are asked to contact marketing@powellriverkings.com by end of business, August 29, 2025.

POWELL RIVER KINGS TEAM MASCOT
Plans are underway to bring back a team mascot to Hap Parker Arena as we continue to strive for a more enjoyable and fun atmosphere at our home games. We are working with a Canadian-based firm that specializes in custom mascot costumes to develop a character and design worthy of the mascot legacy we enjoyed not so long ago. Those that attended past games will fondly remember how our previous mascot enhanced the game-day experience, especially for younger fans and brought smiles to those that witnessed his hijinks. His visibility at community events not only promoted the Kings, but always added a touch of comedy, fun and warmth to those events.
We are reaching out to an interested sponsor to assist with the funding of this worthwhile project. The estimated cost of a new costume is $6,100 CDN, plus shipping. Sponsors will have the option of placing their branding on the front of the sweater/shirt the mascot will be wearing, a lasting and very visible promotional opportunity. Those interested are ask to contact marketing@powellriverkings.com as soon as possible. Lead time for artwork and the manufacturing of the finished product is tight and we want to make sure our new mascot is good-to-go for our first home game on September 19, 2025. Once we have secured a sponsor, we will unveil the mascot design and initiate a contest locally to “name the mascot”.
And anyone interested in assuming the role of team mascot is also encouraged to reach our to our Marketing staff. Ideally, you would be very comfortable in front of a large crowd, be fit and have lots of energy, between 5'5" and 5'10" in height, love hockey, be great with kids and be prepared to volunteer your time to attend all of our home games and some community events as our representative.

CHUCK-A-PUCK
Calling all automotive-based businesses in Powell River. The Kings would like to add an intermission game to our rotation. We envision a vehicle being driven onto the ice during the 2 intermission of one game per homestand that would serve as the “target” for contest participants to attempt to toss a sponge puck through a small opening in the sunroof of the moving vehicle from the stands to win a
major prize (TBD).
