Canada West prepares for game 1

Kent Lewis, head coach of Canada West, says his team is prepared for game 1 of the World Junior 'A' Challenge versus Sweden at 7:30pm in Langley tonight.

"We have good size on the back end, depth in goal and a variety of skilled forwards," notes Lewis on the strengths of his Canada West team.

"Our game plan tonight is to go in and play good old fashioned Canadian hockey versus Sweden. Sweden is a skilled club and so our focus is to make sure there are no outnumbered rushes, protect the puck and make it hard on their goalies. Both the US and Sweden have top drafted picks between the pipes and so we make it as difficult as possible for them."

Two Kings, Richardson and Maguire, are on the Canada West roster. Both Richardson and Maguire will be in the line-up tonight. Coach Lewis says that the two Kings and the entire Canada West team,"gotta play the best hockey of their lives right now. The other teams cannot enjoy playing us."
