Grady and Jackson Schaefer to join the Kings for 2026-27 season

POWELL RIVER, B.C. — The Powell River Kings are pleased to announce the signing of forward Grady Schaefer and defenseman Jackson Schaefer for the 2026-27 British Columbia Hockey League season.

The Schaefer twins, born January 23, 2009, in Palo Alto, California, will join the Kings after competing with the Oakland Jr. Grizzlies 16U AAA. Grady Schaefer (6’0”, 174 lbs, shoots right) plays forward and Jackson Schaefer (5’10”, 161 lbs, shoots right) plays defense. Both players were selected in the 2024 WHL U.S. Priority Draft by the Tri-City Americans — Grady fourth overall and Jackson 24th overall.

Grady is widely regarded as a highly-skilled forward with exceptional hockey IQ and a tremendous compete level. Jackson is regarded as a skilled defenseman with strong offensive instincts who has developed alongside his twin brother throughout his minor hockey career.

The Kings extend a warm welcome to Grady and Jackson as they prepare to relocate to Powell River and begin their junior hockey careers with the team this offseason. Fans can look forward to seeing the brothers in action at the Hap Parker Arena during the 2026-27 season kicking off at home on September 18th against the Prince George Spruce Kings.
