Kings 4 Express 1

Kings managed to duplicate their effort of the first game and won decisively, 4-1 over the Express on Saturday night.

Steven Schmidt couldn't miss in the early going and he got the Kings' first goal at 10:27 on the powerplay.

It was Dalrymple to Adair who slipped it through to Schmidt and he made a deft deke to his backhand to lift it high in the net.

His second goal also came from Adair who poked it back to Schmidt into the faceoff circle and he one timed a shortside shot to put the Kings up 2-0 after the first period.

Express got their only goal on a shot fromt he point that came off the boards behind the net and out to Kerfoot who buried it at 0:39 seconds.

Just as they did the night before Kings answered to restore the two goal lead when Huggins cleared a puck right onto the stick of Villeneuve who had all day to look and shoot into the empty net at 15:07.

Kings, again, virtually shut down the Expresss until Cohen Adair beat Huggins at 19:17 to make the final 4-1 and give the Kings a 2-0 lead in the best of seven series.

Kings won't want to change a thing in games three and four but assistant coach Chad van Diemen said, "it's going to be tougher to get the matchups we want because we don't have the home ice."

"We'll have to have more communication with the guys to get the matchups we want but the game plan itself won't change."

"We feel like tonight was a better game than last night," he said, "so we don't feel any changes are necessary right now."

"Our penalty kill has been very good but we obviously have got to try to stay out of the box."

"We've tightened up quite a bit and played some pretty good defensive hockey against them so far."

Games three and four go in Coquitlam on Monday and Tuesday night.
