Kings coast to 6-3 win over the Clippers

Kings jumped out to a big 5-0 lead in their game against the Clippers but geared down somewhat to allow the Clippers a slim chance of a comeback.

Nice to see, newly acquired, Brendyn Smith, on the scoresheet when he put the Kings up 1-0 after one on a rebound shot from the point.

Jarryd Leung had fed the puck back to Cole Arcuri and his shot was knocked down by the goaltender right to Smith who banged it home at 14:44.

Kings really had control of this game throughout the first but got it going on the scoreboard as well with a flurry of great goals in the second.

Lukosevicius was setup by Scarth and keats and lifted a perfect shot to the top right corner to make it 2-0 at 8:07 on the pp.

He got another at 9:43 as he glided by the net and deflected Aidan Wright's point shot in for 3-0.

Smith got his second of the night on a two on one with Leung who put the pass on Smith's stick and he one timed the 4-0 goal.

And the fifth of the game was a beauty when the shorthanded Kings' broke on a two on one and Hiff setup Scarth for his first since his return to the lineup.

The onslaught looked to pave the way to a lock but while the Kings were celebrating their good fortune the Clippers were scrathcing back.

Brendan Taylor with a powerplay goal at 17:52 and then Luke Sandler 15 seconds later at 18:07 gave notice that the Clippers were still in it.

That got the attention of the Fortis "Energy Player of the Game", JJ Coleshaw and he combined with Luko and Keats at 19:26 to make it 6-2 after two.

Kings settled down in the third and while they didn't score kept the Clipper chances to a minimum and a single goal.

The 6-3 final ended a good two for two weekend for the Kings and
the unsettling January 10 deadline passed to alllow for the team to settle in on it's playoff drive.

Kings check out of the Hap Parker Arena for awhile as they move to the island for six games in two weeks.
