This was billed as a big game for the Kings as they had an outside chance of gaining some ground on the Alberni Bulldogs for third place.
Alberni needed it too as they also had a chance to close the gap with the Nanaimo Clippers and they seized the opportunity and then some.
Kings fell behind 1-0 just 0:23 seconds into the game and gave up six unanswered goals before getting their first at 18:30.
Shoddy play from the net out basically turned the game into a yawner for the second and third periods despite a couple of fights that arose out of frustration.
Not a good night for the Kings however as the Bulldogs added two goals in the second period and one in third to win 9-1.
