Kings lose to the Clippers 5-2

Kings had themselves a pretty good first period and ended it up 1-0 on a nice powerplay goal from Evan Richardson.

He was the beneficiary of a rebound off of some hard work by Scarth and Hiff at 14:25 to open the scoring.

Nanaimo picked it up in the second period and the Kings were guilty of letting them when they scored two quick goals at 4:46 and 5:24.

Richardson tied it 2-2 on a similar goal to the one he scored the night before.

He sped down the wing and  swept into the slot area where he fired a low shot past Dun at 8:25.

Nanaimo secured a 3-2 lead when Josh Bryan let a shot go from 35 feet that Imoo misjudged and had go off his catcher into the top of the net at 11:41.

Nanaimo's insurance goal came at 13:30 of the third period when Kramer let a wrist shot go from 40 feet that went the distance and beat Imoo on the glove side.

Kings, on the powerplay, pulled Imoo with 1:30 left to play for a two man advantage but Nanaimo cleared the puck and the final goal was scored into the empty net by Fitzgerald at 19:00.

Kings have just two more games on the schedule before their best of five series against the Grizzlies.

One home game against the Salmon Arm on Friday, March 01 and their last on the road against Cowichan on Friday, March 08.
