For Immediate Release:

Powell River, BCJanuary 10, 2012 – The Powell River Kings have made a move today, trading 20-year old Carter Shinkaruk. Carter, a forward, is heading to the Merritt Centennials for future considerations.

Shinkaruk, from Langley, was in his 3rd season with the Kings and played in 167 games (including playoffs), scoring 55 points wearing the green and gold. This season, Carter suited up 38 times with the Kings, scoring 8 times and adding 5 assists.

Kings’ General Manager and Head Coach Kent Lewis says, “Carter has been a great kid for our program. We are in a position where we had to make some adjustments and it effected our 20 year-olds. Carter will be going to a quality program in Merritt and we wish him nothing but the best. We thank Carter to his dedication and loyalty to the Powell River Kings while he was here.”
