Kings add more offence with Potvin

The Powell River Kings are happy to announce the commitment of 03′ forward Maxim Potvin for the 2021-22 season.

Max, who was born in Sudbury Ontario and has spent his entire junior career outside of Canada. He played Bantam for the Arizona Jr Coyotes U13 & U14 AAA teams then went on to play for 2 seasons of junior in Sweden, before ending up in Plymouth Michigan playing on the Victory Honda U18 AAA team last year, where in 56 games he had 15 goals and 16 assists.

“Max is a very good skater, thinks the game and sees the ice well” says Chad Van Dieman “He’s coming out of a very good midget program and ready to take the next step in his junior career.”

Max comes from a big time hockey family. His grandfather Denis Potvin is a 4 time Stanley Cup champion with the New York Islanders and a member of the Hockey Hall of Fame. His dad Steve had a 15 year pro career playing in the ECHL, AHL, Hockey Allsvenskan (Sweden) and the DEL (Germany) and is currently the assistant coach for the Arizona Coyotes AHL affiliate Tucson Roadrunners.
