A Night to Remember

Last Saturday night the Powell River Kings Organization recognized me as a "Builder  for my contributions to the Kings Hockey Club and presented me with a banner which is hanging up high in the Hap Parker Arena amongst all other individuals who also made great contributions to our great game of Hockey in Powell River.

This night is one that myself and my family will remember forever and having the banner hanging high up in the Hap Parker Arena has a special meaning for me and my family.

The Kings organization is made up with many volunteers who log many hours to make sure that this franchise has many more successful seasons ahead.  It is the volunteers, fans, former and present players and coaches that make our franchises what it is today. I am delighted to have had the opportunity to make a contribution in the past and  hopefully  I will continue to contribute in the future. I enjoy what I do and to know that so many of you appreciate it all, makes it all worth it .

In appreciation of my special night I would like to thank all of the former players, those  who made the trip here and Jamie Burt for his kind words during the ceremonies. To have these individual there was very special moment for me and brought back many wonderful memories and the great times we had together. Their support for me was overwhelming.

To friends, fans, well wishers and all of those who could not be at the game , thank you for your thoughtfulness kind words of appreciation.  Thanks to the First credit union for being a game sponsor this night and Westview Pharmacy for sponsoring the game poster with my big smiling face. Eleven hundred fans attended the game and went home happy with a 4-2 Kings  win over Vernon. It does not get much better than that for a hockey night in Powell River.

Special thanks to the directors, Doug McCormack, Rob Villani, our cheerful marketing person Elise Statham, Kent Lewis and his coaching staff, for their thoughtfulness and kindness in presenting me  with this special award.  I will be a King forever.

Thank you for this special night to remember,

Joe & Maureen Mastrodonato and family
