After turning back the clock with the retro red and blue jerseys to celebrate Joe Mastrodonato and all his unfailing hard work with the Powell River Kings’ organization, the Kings will officially be putting the retro jerseys up for bid in a silent auction.
The retro jersey silent auction will officially begin at the game on Saturday March 3rd’s and will be on display for the first two home games during the playoffs. If the team places first or second, these two games will be Friday March 16thand Saturday March 17th. If the Kings place third or fourth, these jerseys will be on display for the first two games at home on Monday March 19thand Tuesday March 20th.
A ‘silent auction’ format will be used to auction off the jerseys and will be as follows:
1. Fans, alumni, and players can place a bid for a jersey of their choice by providing their name, phone number, and their bid amount (minimum bid amount of $125.00 required).
2. Fans must indicate their bid in the appropriate space on the bidding row. All new bids must be higher than the previous bid in order to be valid.
3. The silent auction will close at after the 2ndintermission during the second home playoff game at which time the highest bid on each bid sheet will be declared the winner. If conflict arises over identifying the last valid bid for an item(s), auction staff has the sole discretion to determine the winner or to impose an alternate method of closing the item for interested parties.
4. A jersey can be purchased on the spot for $500.00 and surpass all silent auction bids.
If you are from out of town or are unable to make the second home playoff game, you can email Elise at kingsretrojerseybid@gmail.com with your name, your bid amount, payment information and what jersey you would like to bid upon. Upon receiving your email, Elise will be sure to respond with confirmation that your bid has been written down on the silent auction sheet. For those bids coming from out of town, you must email Elise by 7:00 pm Pacific Time on the date of the second playoff game as to what your final bid will be. The Kings recommend that in order to secure a fans’ jersey bid after 7:00 pm that the fan might have someone at the game to write any increased bids down on the fan’s behalf.
Fans, do note that there is a minimum bid of $125.00 on the retro jerseys. The jersey numbers available are: 2, 4, 5, 7, 8, 9 (two number 9s), 10, 11, 14, 15, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 27, 31, 35, 44, and 77.
