Christian Maro commits to Holy Cross

The Kings are thrilled to announce that Christian Maro has committed to play NCAA hockey at Holy Cross!

The 18 year old rookie has been an excellent addition to the Kings this season. He’s scored 9 goals which is the 3rd most on the team and has added 16 assists in 38 games. His 25 points are third most amongst the Kings and he is in the top 20 of BCHL rookie scoring this season. “I am so excited” said Maro “You dream about it your whole life and the day finally comes and it’s a huge relief, but it’s only the start, it’s still a long time until I get there and I’m just going to keep improving everyday.”

Holy Cross is located in Worcester Massachusetts and when asked about why he settled on Holy Cross, Maro noted that it was a chance to be closer to his family. “It was the coaching staff and it was close to home” he adds “My family is moving up to Massachusetts at the end of this year, and my brother goes to school up there plus one of my former teammates is also committed there. It’s an up and coming program, they are doing really well this year and I just want to be part of that.”

Maro becomes the eighth active King to have a commitment to a NCAA Division I school, and now that he has that weight lifted off his shoulders, Maro knows there is a lot more work to be done. “The rest of the season I just want to keep improving everyday. Like I said before, it is just the start, it’s a whole other level and I can’t get complacent and I just need to keep getting better.”
