Kings Rebound to Tie Series with 3-1 Victory

Kings score three unanswered goals to take home ice back to Powell River

For the second game the vipers were awarded the first power play and they converted early when Connor Jones scored his second of the series when he skated down the left wing and tucked a back hand through Josh Watson?s legs 6:36 into the game. The Kings earned their first man advantage with less than four to play but were unable to register a shot.

Goaltenders Josh Watson and Graeme Gordon kept the team at bay with many great saves in the second. The vipers were put on their second power play just past the mid way point but the Kings penalty killers kept it a one goal game.  With less than two to play and time running out on the Kings second PP Matt Garbowsky scored his first of the series when he converted on a rebound point shot from Justin DaSilva and it was tied at one after 40 minutes.

DaSilva earned his second assist when he send Cody Rainaldi down the left side beating Curtis Gedig and dekeing Gordon for the Kings first lead of the series 3:05 into the third period. Referee Jim Manaigo let everything go to let the teams decide the outcome as the series took on a more physical complexion as the game wore on.  Mitch Labreche hit the empty net in the final minute for the Kings 3-1 win and a split in Vernon.

Each side went 1-2 on the power play. Shots were 31-26 vernon. Connor and Kellen Jones have counted for all the vipers three goals in the series. The Kings have four different scorers in Waugh, Garbowsky, Rainaldi and Labreche.
