The Kings have made another trade by acquiring 05′ forward Alex Sandhu from the Surrey Eagles in exchange for future considerations.

The seventeen year old from Delta is currently in his rookie season in the BCHL and has played 10 games for the Eagles collecting a goal and a assist. Before he was in the BCHL Sandhu played at the Delta Hockey Academy and in 33 games last year he score 23 goals to go along with 25 assists.

Sandhu is someone the Kings have known for a while and G.M. Chad van Diemen is very pleased to finally have him on the team. “Alex was an affiliate with us last season but we were unable to get him into any games. We are very familiar with him and are confident he can be a very good player in the BCHL.”

With just 4 wins in the first 16 games the management knows that they have to be better and Sandhu will hopefully a part of the solution for not only for this season, but for the future as well. “Obviously we have had a pretty frustrating start to our season and we feel some changes needed to be made.” says van Diemen “The addition of a solid 2005 forward is something we’ve been discussing as a staff for a while now and when this opportunity came up with Surrey, we felt we had to act on it quickly. We look forward to seeing Alex in our lineup as soon as possible.”

The Kings are back on the road this weekend with a game in Salmon Arm on Friday at 7pm, then Saturday in Chilliwack at 6pm. The Next home game for the Kings is November 18th when they host the Victoria Grizzlies.
