Kings acquire defenceman Zach Gabruch

POWELL RIVER (June 1, 2021) – The Powell River Kings have acquired 2001-born defenceman Zach Gabruch from the Prince George Spruce Kings. In return the Kings have traded 2002-born defenceman Ian Kern.

Originally from Saskatoon, SK, Gabruch played in 16 games during 2020-21 pod season for Prince George, posting two points and eight penalty minutes

In 2019-20, the 6-foot-5, 190-pound blueliner was with the Salmon Arm Silverbacks where he appeared in 56 games for the team and posted a goal and five assists for six points. He played in 4 playoff games for the Silverbacks in 2020.

Prior to playing in the BCHL, Gabruch played with the Saskatoon Blazers of the Saskatchewan Male U18 AAA Hockey League where he suited up in 81 games and posted 30 points over two full seasons played.
