Kings add forward Samuel Fréchette

The Kings are excited to announce the signing of forward Samuel Fréchette.

The 19 year old is coming off a tremendous season with the QJHL’s Valleyfield Braves where he finished third in team scoring with 25 goals and 31 assists in 37 games. He followed it up with 19 points in 17 playoff games as the Braves went on to win the QJHL title. “I’m really excited to join the Kings and become part of the Powell River organization.” says Fréchette “My goal is to contribute in anyway I can and help the team have a strong season. I’m looking forward to growing as a player and working with the group to make a deep playoff run.” Prior to joining the Braves Fréchette suited up in 34 games for the Acadie-Bathurst Titan in the QMJHL collecting 6 points.

Standing at five feet and seven inches tall, Fréchette isn’t going to be the biggest player on the ice, but he his someone who plays much bigger than his size according to Head Coach and G.M. Stephan Seeger Jr. “Sam is extremely fit and plays with fire. He does not shy away from the dirty areas and likes to be physical with any opportunity he gets. He will be an exciting player for fans to watch this season.”

The Montreal native will look to keep his track record of success going here in Powell River, not only is he a QJHL champion, he was the CSSHL East U18 Prep MVP at Bourget College during the 2022-23 season, leading the division in goals (17) and points (35) in 16 games as his team went on the win the league that year.
