Kings Add MacDonald

Powell River, BC – January 10th, 2012 – The Powell River Kings are very excited to annouce the signing of 20 year old forward Brendon MacDonald. MacDonald, from Calgary, has suited up for the Cowichan Valley Capitals for the past three seasons and served as the team’s captain this year. In 143 career games for the Capitals, he scored 35 points and earned 315 penalty minutes. During his 2011/2012 campaign, he scored once, while adding four assists and 65 penalty minutes.

“I know that Powell River is an awesome organization and I’m very happy to be here”, mentioned MacDonald, who will be in the lineup this weekend for the Kings. “Powell River has always been a winning team, and hopefully I can add to that.”

“I feelĀ  Brendon is a quality kid who will be good in the dressing room”, noted Kings Head Coach and GM, Kent Lewis. “He’ll bring grit, moxie and leadership to our forward unit. He’s happy to be here and we’re happy to have him on the roster.”

The first game in a Kings uniform for Brendon, will be this Friday night against the Surrey Eagles at the Hap Parker Arena.
