Kings alum Carr named to Canada’s Olympic Team

The official roster for the Canadian men’s Olympic team was announced today and former King Daniel Carr was named listed as part of the roster that will go to Beijing.

Carr was acquired from the St. Albert Steel of the AJHL midway through the 2009-10 season. He suited up for 22 regular season games and 23 playoff games as finishing 3rd in team playoff scoring as the Kings would make it to their 2nd of 4 straight finals appearances. in 45 combined games Carr would score 35 goals and pickup 28 assists.

After the Kings Carr would go off to play 5 years and Union College winning a NCAA championship in 2013-14. He would turn pro after his time at Union. Daniel went undrafteted but managed to play 117 games in the NHL over parts of 6 seasons bouncing between the AHL and NHL. He has played for the Montreal Canadiens, Nashville Predators, Vegas Golden Nights, and most recently the Washington Capitals putting up 16 goals and 21 assists over is tenure.

Currently this season Daniel is playing in Switzerland with HC Lugano.
