Kings avenge loss with 4-1 win

Kings got off to a much better start on Saturday to bounce back with a 4-1 win over the Clippers.

They decided it was easier to play with the lead so they got the jump early and led throughout the contest.

Game's first star Curtis McCarrick saw to that when he fired a rebound in for the first goal at 1:28. Lukosevicius took a shot from the high slot and the rebound went straight to McCarrick who had nothing but net for his first of the year.

Kings opened the lead to 2-0 on a Trevor MacLean one timer from the point that beat McLeod high to his glove. This was MacLean's first of the year as well and put his team in a very favourable position just 6:40 into the game.

The two goal cushion shrank to one late in the period when Clipper's Gushue faked a shot to get around the block of Ripley and then ripped one into Imoo's left.

Up 2-1 going into the second Kings got a gift when Nanaimo handed Hiff the puck deep in their own end on the powerplay. Hiff spotted Leung parked by the net and all Jarryd had to do was redirect it in at 5:54 to go up 3-1.

From there the Kings, behind the very solid goaltending from Imoo, kept the Clippers at bay and capped the evening with an empty net goal.

Before McLeod had gotten through the gate for an extra attacker, Coleshaw hit Scarfo with a pass at the Clipper's blueline and he put the King's fourth goal in.
