Kings down the Chiefs 4-1

Kings played the final game of a three game set this week and finished up strong with a 4-1 win over the Chilliwack Chiefs.

Evan Richardson got the proverbial 'monkey off his back' with a beautiful setup from Teagan Waugh and Jordan Burns on the powerplay at 8:37.

Chilliwack answered quickly on a powerplay of their own when, after Teagan Waugh blocked a couple of shots, Hansen picked up a rebound and fired it past Imoo.

Tied 1-1 heading into the second period, J.P. Villeneuve deflected Brandan Smith's shot from the point for a powerplay goal at 7:20.

Kings held the one goal lead through to the third period and although a little nervous at times, held on until Jarryd Leung wired a shot from the slot past Mitch Gillam at 9:37.

Kings did a much better job after that and comfortably played out the remained of the game until Richardson put a puck into the emtpy net at 19:10.

Chiefs had pulled Gillam with a full 2:00 minutes remaining but the Kings never let them get any possession in their end of the rink.

All in all, a very good effort from the Kings and with the bulk of their road schedule out of the way they have fought back, after a rough start, to put a bit of a streak together.
