Kings put together a pretty good effort on Friday night but pretty good wasn't good enough to stop the Express.
In a tight hockey game it's the last goal that counts and the Express got that one at 12:42 of the final period off the stick of Mitch Nardi to win 3-2
Kings opened the scoring on the powerplay with Steven Schmidt converting a nice pass from Craig Dalrymple at 17:28 of the first period.
Express came back with a powerplay goal of their own on a nice tip in by Petan.
He got the next goal on a no angle shot from behind the goal line that deflected into the shortside to go up 2-0 at 5:16.
Kings got that one right back at 6:09 when Benton's slapshot was deflected by Teal Burns to beat Huggins who was going the wrong way.
The winning goal was a point shot from Atkinson that Maguire got a piece of but the puck dropped down for Mitch Nardi who buried it.
Kings worked hard to get the equalizer but were frustrated in their attempts to generate a good scoring chance and suffered their fourth loss to the Express this year.
They get a chance to avenge the loss tomorrow at 1:30 when some lucky 50/50 fan wins at least 1,000 dollars sponsored by Adams Concrete and TAWS Cycle and Sport starting at 1:30 P.M.

In game two on Sunday Kings again had the balance of play but the Express owned most of the good scoring chances.
They only needed to capitalize on three of them to win their second in a row against the Kings 3-1.
Express first goal came just after a Kings' powerplay and the 3 on 2 was quickly converted at 7:07 by Alex Petan.
Kings answered at 11:47 when Adair put a rebound past Huggins to close out the first period 1-1.
Coquitlam picked up a couple of goals in the second, both by Kerfoot, to lead 3-1 after two periods.
Kings tried to mount a comeback in the third period but the Express held them off and successfully pulled off their second win in two days.
