The Powell River Kings are pleased to announce the hiring of Matt Barberis as Assistant Coach for the 2026-27 BCHL season.
Barberis, a Surrey, BC product, arrives with a strong competitive playing background. He spent five seasons in the WHL with the Vancouver Giants and Kelowna Rockets, appearing in 179 games and recording 86 points (21 goals, 65 assists). He later played four seasons at Carleton University before most recently competing professionally in France with HG Dunkerque.
Known for his energy, competitive drive, and ability to connect with those around him, Barberis steps into the role ready to support Head Coach Brennan Menard and contribute to a positive, professional environment for the players.
