Kings lose 7-3 to the Vees

Kings dropped a 7-3 decision to the Penticton Vees on Friday night in front of 872 fans.

They were all cheering after the Kings got on the board first when Drew Dorantes came off the boards and into the slot where he shot the puck by Mantha of the Vees at 6:10.

Kings enjoyed the lead for all of 3:58 when Coatta knocked in a rebound on the Vees powerplay to tie 1-1.

Six unanswered goals later, including a penalty shot by Blanleil on Jonah Imoo, and the Kings were left to play for pride.

Late in the third, Luke Nogard took a shot from the right faceoff circle to beat Mantha and then on the powerplay at 17:40 Aidan Wright wired a slapshot from the point to make the final 7-3.

Imoo was pulled after the second period so fans got a chance to see Stefan Wornig for the first time.

His glove save minutes into the third was a beauty and the big goalie looked pretty good in his short debut.

Hunter Findlater was also in the lineup due a lineup shuffle that covered the holes left by Scarth, Chatham, Keats, Smith and Leclerc.

Kings have a day off before their game against Cowichan on Sunday at 1:30 P.M.
