The Powell River Kings are pleased to announce the signing of forward Cam Kovary for the 2026-27 British Columbia Hockey League season.
Kovary, a 2008-born right winger from Greenwich, Connecticut, stands 6-foot-0 and 170 pounds and shoots right. The 18-year-old arrives in Powell River after a multi-year development path that includes high-end U.S. AAA programs and a brief stint in the Quebec Junior Hockey League.
In 2025-26, Kovary split time between the Yale Jr. Bulldogs 18U AAA (5 goals, 4 assists in 25 games) and the Gatineau Flames of the QJHL (2 goals, 1 assist in 11 games). The previous two seasons he produced consistently with Little Caesars AAA, posting 20 goals and 9 assists in 63 games at the 16U level (2024-25) and 12 goals and 25 assists for 37 points in 66 games at 15U (2023-24). He has also competed in multiple high-profile tournaments, including a strong showing at the World Selects Invitational U16 (5 goals, 1 assist in 6 games).
Kovary was selected in the 12th round (175th overall) by the Tri-City Storm in the 2024 USHL Entry Draft and in the 12th round (204th overall) by the Gatineau Olympiques in the 2025 QMJHL Entry Draft.
