Kings win 5-2 to lead Series 3-0

Kings Win 5-2 to Push Caps to Brink

Matt Garbowsky leads Kings with three goal performance

The series shifted to the Cowichan Valley for game three and the Kings employed the same stifling game beating the Capitals 5-2 to take a 3-0 series lead and a chance to sweep in game four Tuesday night.

Mitch Labreche put the Kings on the board first with his second of the playoffs mid way through the first. They made it two nothing when Garbowsky scored his first 4:22 into the middle frame. A Capital goal just over two minutes later cut the lead in half but Garbow restored the two goal lead with his second of the period before the mid way point.

The third period saw the Kings take advantage of some power plays as they scored twice in a 1:08 span the first by Jordan Grant then Garbow completed the hat trick. The Caps scored on a power play of their own with just 12 seconds remaining.

Josh Watson spent another night mainly as a spectator as he faced just 15 shots for the win. In the three games the Kings have outshot the Capitals 148 to 53.
