The Powell River Kings opened their annual training camp on Monday August 22nd. There were a total of 48 players eager to hit the ice and compete for a spot on the 2016/2017 squad. With a number of returning players and new recruits, competition has been stiff from the get go. “Main Camp has been very competitive in all aspects. The compete level is high with lots of depth on the ice,” says head coach Kent Lewis. The Kings will narrow down their numbers on Wednesday, August 24th after the final inner-squad game at 130pm. the first exhibition game will take place on Sunday, August 28th in Sechelt against the Chilliwack Chiefs.
