The Powell River Kings congratulate former Captain Mat Bodie and being named to the NCHA CM All-Star team. Bodie played with the Kings for 2 seasons before moving on to Union College where he recorded 32 points as a rookie and 29 points as a sophomore.

SCHENECTADY, NY – Sophomore goaltender Troy Grosenick became the third Union men's ice hockey student-athlete to earn First Team All-American honors in the Division I era. Grosenick was named a 2012 First Team CCM All-American by the American Hockey Coaches Association on Friday. Grosenick joins goaltenders Keith Kinkaid (2011), who earned first team honors last year and Trevor Koenig (1997).
Junior forward Jeremy Welsh and sophomore defenseman Mat Bodie each earned Second Team All-America honors, becoming the first Union skaters in the Division I era to earn All-America recognition.
Grosenick, who entered the season with just one career start, finished a stellar campaign in net for the Dutchmen. In his first year as a starter. Grosenick ranked first in conference action in goals-against average (1.60); save percentage (.940); and win percentage (.767). At 22-6-3 overall, Grosenick, who has started 33 of 41 games, finished the season second in the nation in goals-against average (1.65), save percentage (.936), and winning percentage (.758). His five shutouts on the season matched Kris Mayotte '06 for the single-season school record. Grosenick shattered school single-season goals-against average and save percentage records established by Keith Kinkaid (2010-11) and Trevor Koenig (1996-1997). He earned the Ken Dryden Award as ECAC Hockey Goaltender of the Year.
Welsh, recorded 27 goals, 17 assists (44 points) in 40 games for the Dutchmen this season, shattering the school single-season goals record previously held by Mario Valery-Trabucco '10. He ranked first on the team and fourth in the NCAA in goals scored. He had nine points (5g, 4a) in eight postseason games for the Dutchmen, including a five-game goal-scoring streak to lead Union to its first ECAC Hockey Championship and first Frozen Four berth in school history. For his efforts, Welsh was named ECAC Hockey Player of the Month for March, Most Outstanding Player of the ECAC Championship and Most Outstanding Player of the NCAA East Regional in Bridgeport, CT.
Bodie finished the season with eight goals and 21 assists on the season, just three points shy of the school single-season record for points by a defenseman that Bodie established in the 2010-11 season. Bodie, who was 15th in the nation in points per game (0.74) among defenseman, earned ECAC Hockey First Team honors for his efforts.
