Powell River, B.C. – The Powell River Kings are pleased to announce the signing of defenseman Jeremy Friesen for the 2026-27 BCHL season.
Friesen, a British Columbia-born rearguard from Abbotsford, brings significant BCHL experience to the Kings’ blue line. The 2007-born defenseman previously suited up for the Cowichan Valley Capitals and Surrey Eagles in the BCHL. He most recently played with the Devon Xtreme of the AJHL.
“Jeremy brings BCHL experience and strong offensive capabilities to our defense corps. He’ll be a great asset for our coaches and a great ambassador for the Kings in the Powell River community. We are looking forward to seeing him wearing the big P,” said Tyler Kuntz, General Manager of the Powell River Kings.
Friesen expressed his enthusiasm for joining the organization:
“I’m excited to join the Kings organization. Coach Menard has a great reputation for developing players, and the opportunity to learn from him was a big factor in my decision. I’m looking forward to contributing in any way I can, bringing a strong work ethic every day, and doing my part to help the team compete for a championship this season.”
The Kings continue to build a competitive roster under the new hockey operations leadership as they prepare for the upcoming season. Fans can stay updated on all roster moves and team news at powellriverkings.com and follow the team on social media.
