Richardson Powell River Bound

The Powell River Kings are excited to welcome Evan Richardson to the team’s line-up.

Hailing from Nanaimo, Evan Richardson played 55 games for the Grizzlies last season where he put up 12 goals and 30 assists. This past spring he was selected to play with a group of other BCHL players in Russia where he earned a silver medal. In May he secured a scholarship with Boston College for 2013.

Having played against the Kings in round two of the Coastal Conference semi-finals this past season, Evan is familiar with Powell River. “I’m looking forward to playing in Powell River because it’s a real hockey town”, he says. “When we played here in the playoffs last year there were signs all over town and the businesses had painted windows.  You could tell the entire community was behind the club.”

Richardson is confident his skating, speed, offensive ability along with an intense competitive edge will contribute to the Kings' success this upcoming season. He’s looking forward to wearing the green and gold. “I know a couple of guys (Waugh, Forbes, Maguire) on the team already. Every year I know that they don’t want to leave Powell River at the end of the season because they love it so much.”

In joining the Kings’ nationally ranked program, Evan is looking forward to continuing to develop his skills as he looks down the road to his future at Boston College. “I know that Kent Lewis is going to help me be prepared as possible for NCAA Division 1 level hockey.”

Evan Richardson will be arriving in Powell River and ready to hit the ice for the Kings’ Main Camp set for Friday August 26th.
