Spruce Kings Grinch Kings Teddy Bear Toss

The bears went flying, but it was after the final buzzer as the Prince George Spruce Kings spoiled the Kings’ annual teddy bear toss game, shutting out the Kings 3-0 on Friday night.

Prince George got the scoring underway early as Ben Brar poked home a puck that Mitch Adamyk attempted to glove at the side of the goal, for his team leading 16th of the season and a 1-0 Spruce Kings lead. Prince George doubled up a few minutes later as Patrick Cozzi found Brar on a perfect pass to go upstairs for his 2nd of the game and a 2-0 lead. Shots 7-6 Prince George through 20.

The Kings looked better in the second, but a deflating 3-0 goal for the Spruce Kings put the game beyond reach as the Kings were unable to generate much following. The best chance of the game came in the third period as Matt Berryman was unable to direct a Ryan Brushett pass to goal and Logan Neaton registered his first shutout, a 16 save performance.
