Kings Take on Bulldogs for Coastal Crown

The Powell River Kings will defend their Coastal Conference Championship against the Alberni Valley Bulldogs beginning Friday March 19th in the Alberni Valley.

The Kings have been waiting since Saturday night to see who they would play as they swept the Langley Chiefs in four games while the Bulldogs needed six games to get by the Nanaimo Clippers with a 5-2 victory Tuesday night.

The Kings earned seven of a possible 12 points versus the Bulldogs during six regular season meetings. The teams had success in each others buildings as the Kings took five of six points out of Alberni while the Dogs took four of six out of Powell River.

The series continues on Saturday March 20th then returns to Powell River for games three and four on Monday and Tuesday March 22nd and 23rd. Puck drop is 7pm both nights.

The finals four is now set in the Fred Page Cup playoffs. Last night in the interior the Penticton Vees needed over time to get by the Westside Warriors 4-3, while the defending champion Vernon Vipers blanked the Quesnel Millionaires 5-0.
